Parts
The three main parts are OOPic, wall sensor, and Lego motors.
We are using a OOPic as the robot's
brain. OOPic is an acronym for Object-Oriented Programmable
Integrated Circuit. It is the first programmable micro-controller
/ PVC that uses an object-oriented language. It's developed by Savage Innovations.
For our wall-detecting sensors, we have chosen
SFH5110-38. SFH5110-38 is a IR remote control receiver produced
by Infineon. It is capable
of detecting 38kHz IR signals.
The motors we are using are from the Lego
Brainstorm set provided to us by our department.(The creator of
Lego Brainstorm set is Fred Martin).
To drive these motors, we are using an L298M H-bridge motor
driver.
